Japanese Yuzu is an exotic citrus fruit, from the Rutaceae family. It is about the size of a tangerine and mainly cultivated in Japan, Korea and China. It is classed as a 'super food' as it contains three times as much vitamin C as lemons. In addition the fragrance of this fruit is said to lower tensions, anxiety and depression.
It has a complex flavour with hints of mandarin, lemon and grapefruit.
It is used as an ingredient in some of our tonic waters and mixers, but is also a great culinary ingredient.
