Wedding season is approaching, delightful old cars are being coaxed into life after winter, dressmakers are getting blisters and mothers are fretting and trying hats! Craft Gin is certainly on the menu this season. Gin bars are ousting Pimms on the lawn and miniature bottles are even making it as wedding favours (or how about miniatures as favours and a bucket of tonic, ice and a slice on each table as something truly different?) Summer time (almost)

The weather might be playing with us currently (well rain can hear bank holidays coming) but we have had a taste of summer, the BBQ was cleared of cobwebs, friends summoned and the taste buds demanded summery, fresh drinks - Gin and Tonic was the cry! Tastes across the group vary as you would expect but we persuaded those usually handcuffed to the beer or wine glass that small batch, craft gin and tonic was very different to the traditional Gordons and Schweppes. They agreed to give a craft gin a go and we certainly have a few converts now....

Birthday Gin and Tonic Masterclass hosted by Ice and a Slice

Ice and a Slice hosted a surprise 40th Birthday Gin and Tonic Masterclass for Justin and 9 of his family and friends on Saturday evening.  We had 4 gins and 5 mixers, including a ginger ale for the party to taste.  Justin's wife Jo, had made some lovely dishes to accompany the gins which included Lemongrass Chicken Kebabs to go with Nelson's gin and some Strawberry Cream Cups to accompany the Love gin.  The group got stuck in tasting each of the gins with each of the tonics and adding slices, garnishes and botanicals to mix up the flavours and...

Last Thursday saw us attend our first ever Business Awards event.  We were delighted to be shortlisted as finalists in the category of Most Promising New Start-Up Business in the 2016 Burton Mail Business Awards, held at the Burton Albion Football Club Pirelli Stadium. Glitz and glamour were the order of the day with over 200 guests attending. The two other finalists in our category were RJK Logistics and The Unicare Group.  As the first category winners to be announced, we didn't have to wait too long.  Sadly we weren't successful in winning, that honour went to RJK Logistics.  But we...
